Behind Our House

Hannah and I went for a walk behind our house two Sundays ago. It was really pleasant. Much more "rural" than we are used to. Birds were chirping and we could escape the sounds of traffic.

My friend David Rittenhouse thinks this is from the allium family (onions/leeks):

My other friend Paul Gulezian identified this as a Korean magpie (Pica sericea):

First Korean Birthday

I thought I'd post this picture here to show just how kind my students, co-workers, and newfound friends were to me on my golden birthday. It was very touching to expect nothing and then be surprised with kindness all day long. <3

Fish Market

On Saturday we spent the day at a traditional fish market. It was smelly, to say the least. I had a blast.

Pool Hall

On Tuesday night we meet up to play pool at a pool hall. Except, all of the tables are Korean style except for one. But we make do.

Korean style pool table without any pockets. I still don't understand:

Around Town

This is where we go shopping MOST of the time. Though, there are many local farmers that sell fruit and veggies all over the place, so that is where we are going to be getting most of our healthy food.

The escalators don't have steps. And the carts can go on them, too. They have these cool magnetic feet that stick to the escalator.

Here are some random photos.
Yes, we have a Domino's and it is down the street from our house:

There are public work out areas in all the parks which I think is sooooo awesome. America needs to learn from this:

Chickens at a gas station. There is a rooster so I am assuming they are raising the chicken babies?
